Turkey to host 16th Annual Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference

The International Ecotourism Society (TIES) Eurasia Chapter, is hosting the 16th Annual Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference (ESTC) in Tokat, Turkey from July 27th – 31st 2021.

TIES is dedicated to promoting ecotourism and has been at the forefront of the development of ecotourism, providing guidelines and standards, training, technical assistance and educational resources. TIES’ global network of ecotourism professionals and travellers is leading the efforts to make tourism a viable tool for conservation, protection of bio-cultural diversity and sustainable community development.

ESTC, organized by TIES, is a unique annual conference focused on the advancement of sustainability goals for the tourism industry. Offering invaluable learning and networking opportunities, the ESTC is a leading international meeting place where innovative minds gather to discuss ideas and solutions that inspire change. Promoting policies and practices benefiting businesses and communities, the ESTC helps to reinforce the role of tourism in building a more sustainable future, organized in a different destination each year.

“ESTC annual conference and B2B networking event, widely considered the most important conference in ecotourism, was started in the year 2004. The event series will also include the prestigious annual TIES eco-awards. It’s an exclusive contest that identifies and awards the Best Ecological personalities and organizations in 16 different categories, being selected by 5 million registered voters online.

Talking about the safety protocol due to the ongoing pandemic, Kalender adds, “ESTC will conform to the highest safety standards and procedures as defined by ICCA, and will hold all attendees and exhibitors to the strictest standards”.
